Book Quote...

"These are not books, lumps of lifeless paper, but minds alive on the shelves. From each of them goes out its own voice... and just as the touch of a button on our set will fill the room with music, so by taking down one of these volumes and opening it, one can call into range the voice of a man far distant in time and space, and hear him speaking to us, mind to mind, heart to heart." ~ Gilbert Highet

About Me

My photo
The Book Fairy
Not a lot to tell really. I work, eat, sleep and generally try to be a good person (although in my job it's hard sometimes!). I am a true Piscean in every sense; easy going and pretty chilled out most of the time which is why after studying for my degree in Advertising I decided not to persue that particular career path (thinking up new ways to sell the same products to people who don't really need them? I don't think so!) and decided to fly by the seat of my pants instead and fell into my current job. I am pretty easy to please and at the end of the day, as long as I have a shelf full of books waiting to be read, I'm happy :) Maybe one day would like to open a quaint little book store somewhere (just like The Shop Around the Corner in 'You've Got Mail') and also write my own novel one day - if I can scrape together some daily free time and focus my attention for long enough. Would also like to keep a couple of horses and drive about in my Mitsubishi Evo or Subaru Impreza on the weekend too. Best I'd better make that novel a best-selling one then... or else marry rich or win the lottery...! I also have a notebook fetish :) xxx

Book Quote...

"To sit alone in the lamplight with a book spread out before you, and hold intimate converse with men of unseen generations - such is a pleasure beyond compare." ~ Kenko Yoshida
